Overview

We are recruiting for a highly motivated, innovative, and enthusiastic clinician to lead our healthcare team at HMP Holme House as the Head of Healthcare. HMP Holme House is a category B prison for male adults. At HMP Holme House we deliver an integrated model of healthcare with primary care, sexual health and screening services, and substance misuse services, through safe, optimal and integrated health and wellbeing services that deliver best outcomes for the individual, their families and communities. This position offers a chance to enhance managerial and nursing skills in a dynamic setting.

Main duties of the job

You will be the registered CQC Manager and responsible for supporting and ensuring compliance with CQC standards and regulations using continuous improvement methodologies, working alongside colleagues from the Quality department.

You will be responsible for the effective day-to-day operational management of all clinical services provided throughout the prison, including primary care nursing clinics, GP clinics, and substance misuse services. You will manage and monitor service level agreements (dental services, physiotherapy, podiatry), ensuring performance-monitoring standards are adhered to and the highest standards of care are maintained. This is a senior role with responsibility as lead for delivery of service outcomes at a local level.

Person Specification

Education and Training (Essential)

  • Registered Healthcare Professional with current registration e.g., Nurse with NMC membership
  • Masters or equivalent in relevant subject area or equivalent level of experience
  • Management or leadership qualification or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continued professional development at postgraduate level, including delivery of evidence-based care

Desirable

  • RCGP Level 1 and 2 in alcohol or substance misuse
  • Prescribing qualification

  • Extensive and significant experience at a senior management/operational level within a healthcare environment, in a complex multi-professional setting
