HEAD OF FINANCE. Permanent: Part Time (3 days per week). Pro Rata Salary: Competitive and based on experience. A distinguished investment management firm in London is seeking a Head of Finance to join their close-knit team in a part-time, hybrid capacity. This is an exceptional opportunity for a fully qualified accountant with proven experience in financial services to take ownership of the finance function, reporting directly to the Managing Partner. You will be at the heart of strategic decision-making, driving process improvements and ensuring robust financial controls across all areas of the business.

What you’ll do

As Head of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial landscape of this esteemed investment management firm. Your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass everything from overseeing detailed financial reporting to supporting strategic planning alongside senior leadership. You will be entrusted with managing budgets, presenting insightful analyses at partner meetings, supervising payroll operations, handling tax compliance matters, and leading efficiency projects that drive continuous improvement.   • Oversee all aspects of financial reporting and internal accounts, providing clear, timely and accurate analysis to support business decisions.
  • Lead annual budget process, advising partners to ensure financial robustness and sustainable growth.
  • Present management accounts and profitability forecasts at quarterly partner meetings, recommending process enhancements for greater efficiency.
  • Manage equity partner profit share calculations and tax payments with precision and confidentiality.
  • Develop and maintain effective control processes for internal accounts to minimise regulatory, operational and organisational risk.
  • Prepare year-end accounts for all group entities and oversee audit processes in collaboration with external auditors.
  • Act as HMRC point of contact for PAYE, P60, P11D matters; manage VAT, Corporation Tax compliance and FCA regulatory submissions.
  • Monitor staff and partner expenses; supervise finance assistant in expense payments and invoice processing.
  • Serve as lead administrator for accounting systems (Sage/Xero), coordinating upgrades, fixes and user training as needed.
  • Manage lease arrangements for properties as well as service contracts including utilities, IT outsourcing and facilities support.
  • Present finance overviews at quarterly meetings; nurture positive relationships internally and externally through proactive engagement.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel coupled with intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite
