Job description

SThree are pleased to announce that we’re seeking an exceptional Head of Delivery to lead the successful end-to-end delivery of strategic projects and change initiatives across our global portfolio. Operating in a dynamic FTSE 250 environment, you’ll orchestrate cross-functional teams, embed agile best practices, and ensure disciplined governance to deliver outcomes on time, within budget, and to the highest quality.

This strategic and hands-on leadership role can be based in either our London or Glasgow office. You’ll set the delivery vision, coach and inspire a team of c.10 project managers, and partner with product owners, technology leaders, and senior business stakeholders to accelerate time-to-value and realise tangible benefits from our global transformation agenda.

About Us

SThree is the global STEM-specialist talent partner, connecting sought-after experts in life sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics with innovative organisations worldwide. We’re passionate about delivering game-changing service and creating a culture where everyone belongs, is valued, and is connected.

What you’ll do
  • Lead portfolio delivery: Own the end-to-end execution of strategic programmes, ensuring milestones, scope, and quality standards are met.
  • Drive agile excellence: Implement and evolve delivery frameworks, playbooks, and templates; coach teams in Scrum, scaled agile practices, and prioritisation.
  • Remove impediments and manage dependencies: Unblock delivery across technology, vendors, and business units; ensure smooth integration of SDLC and DevOps practices.
  • Embed governance and risk management: Run disciplined stage gates, maintain accurate reporting (RAG, risks, issues, dependencies), and ensure compliance with GDPR and InfoSec standards.
  • Manage financial controls: Oversee budgets, forecasts, accruals, and vendor contracts to ensure commercial accountability.
  • Build and lead a high‑performing team: Mentor and develop c.10 project managers, foster a culture of psychological safety, and create clear succession plans.
  • Champion benefits realisation: Define measurable outcomes, track value delivery, and optimise time-to-value through incremental releases and early adoption strategies.
  • Collaborate globally: Operate across multiple time zones and cultures, aligning stakeholders and driving adoption of change initiatives.
What we’re looking for
  • Proven experience leading complex, multi‑country programmes in a FTSE 250 or global enterprise.
  • Strong leadership of project manager cohorts (10+), with coaching and succession planning.
  • Expertise in agile delivery (Scrum, SDLC; exposure to SAFe / LeSS) and pragmatic governance.
  • Commercial acumen: budget ownership, vendor management, and SLA oversight.
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement and influencing skills at executive level.
  • Technical fluency to collaborate with engineering, DevOps, architecture, and InfoSec teams.
  • Relevant certifications (Agile / Scrum, SAFe, PMP / Prince2) desirable.
  • Tools proficiency: Jira / ADO, Confluence, MS Project / Planner, Power BI, Office 365, collaboration platforms.
  • Cultural agility: experience operating across time zones, cultures, and regulatory environments.
What’s In It for You?
  • Hybrid working options for flexibility.
  • Bonus linked to company and personal performance.
  • 28 days holiday plus public holidays, with an annual leave purchase scheme.
  • Private healthcare, discounted dental insurance, and health cashback scheme.
  • Paid volunteering days and caregiver leave.
  • Access to retail discounts and our company share scheme.
