Job summary

Actian is seeking a highly technical Tech Lead to guide a small feature team of 3–4 engineers. You will write high-quality backend code, architect robust systems, and lead by example in a SaaS environment with a modern stack (Scala, Python, TypeScript).

You will actively leverage AI coding agents to multiply your team's output without compromising quality, while owning feature delivery from design to production across multi-tenant cloud deployments.

Qualifications

• Deep backend engineering experience building and scaling cloud-native SaaS platforms.
• Proven production experience with Scala; Python or TypeScript is a plus.
• Must-have: experience using AI coding agents to improve engineering efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on coding and execution for complex backend challenges.
• Guide technical direction using Scala, Python, and TypeScript for multi-tenant SaaS apps.
• Promote AI coding agents to boost velocity without compromising quality.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to translate product goals into technical tasks.
• Own the life cycle of features, ensure cloud scalability and production readiness.
• Mentor engineers through pair programming and code reviews.
