Job summary

Actian is seeking a highly technical Tech Lead to guide a small team of 3–4 engineers. You will write excellent backend code, architect scalable SaaS systems, and lead by example, using Scala, Python, and TypeScript. A key focus is leveraging AI coding agents to multiply output without compromising quality.

You will own the technical execution of your team, drive multi-tenant cloud delivery, and mentor engineers through pair programming and code reviews in a fast-growing data management company.

Qualifications

• Deep backend engineering experience building and scaling cloud-native SaaS platforms.
• Production-proven experience in Scala; Python or TypeScript a plus.
• Must-have: deep experience using AI coding agents to enhance productivity and code quality.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on coding and execution on backend systems.
• Guide the technical direction using Scala and Python for robust data platforms.
• Promote AI coding agents to improve velocity while maintaining quality.
• Own feature lifecycles for multi-tenant cloud deployments.
• Mentor 3–4 engineers through code reviews and pairing.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to refine features and tasks.
• Ensure production health and security in the cloud.
• Drive timely delivery and unblock blockers for the team.
