Job summary

Actian is seeking a highly technical Tech Lead to guide a small feature team of 3–4 engineers. This role emphasizes hands-on coding, architectural leadership, and a strong focus on SaaS backend systems using Scala, Python, and TypeScript.

You will drive technical execution, mentor teammates, and advocate for AI-assisted development to boost velocity while maintaining quality and security.

Qualifications

• Deep backend experience building and scaling cloud-native SaaS platforms.
• Production experience with Scala; Python or TypeScript is a plus.
• Experience using AI coding agents and prompt engineering to improve code quality and velocity.

Responsibilities

• Write high-quality backend code and tackle complex technical challenges.
• Guide the team’s technical direction using Scala, Python, and TypeScript for backend and full-stack delivery.
• Promote AI coding agents to boost velocity while ensuring quality and security.
• Own end-to-end lifecycle of features for multi-tenant cloud scalability and production deployment.
• Mentor engineers through pair programming and rigorous code reviews.
