Job summary

Actian is seeking a highly technical Tech Lead to guide a small feature team of 3–4 engineers. You will write high-quality backend code, architect robust systems, and lead by example in a SaaS environment.

Expect a modern stack with Scala, Python, and TypeScript, and a strong emphasis on leveraging AI coding agents to boost velocity while maintaining quality. You will own technical execution, drive multi-tenant cloud delivery, and mentor your engineers through code reviews and pair programming.

Qualifications

• Deep backend engineering experience building and scaling cloud-native SaaS platforms.
• Strong production-proven experience writing code in Scala; Python or TypeScript are a big plus.
• Must-have: deep experience using AI coding agents, prompting them effectively, and reviewing AI-generated code for security/architecture.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on coding and execution of complex backend features.
• Guide the team technically and set direction.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to refine features and align with business goals.
• Ensure multi-tenant cloud scalability and production readiness.
• Mentor engineers through pair programming and code reviews.
