Job summary

Actian is seeking a highly technical Tech Lead to guide a small feature team in building scalable SaaS backend systems using Scala, Python, and TypeScript. You will write core backend code, own technical execution, and mentor 3–4 engineers while driving product-focused outcomes.

You should be a builder who embraces AI coding agents to multiply team output, maintain production health in the cloud, and collaborate closely with Product Managers to deliver value.

Qualifications

• Deep backend engineering experience in cloud-native SaaS platforms.
• Strong production experience with Scala; Python or TypeScript is a plus.
• Experience using AI coding agents to improve development velocity and code quality.

Responsibilities

• Write high-quality backend code and tackle complex technical challenges.
• Define and guide technical direction for scalable backend systems.
• Promote and leverage AI coding agents to boost team output without compromising quality.
• Own the technical execution and ensure multi-tenant cloud delivery for features.
• Mentor and unblock a small team through code reviews and pair programming.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to translate product goals into technical tasks.
