Job summary

A community-focused organization in Haverhill is seeking a Lead Youth Outreach Worker to develop youth programs and partnerships. Qualifications

Overview

Lead Youth Outreach Worker. 10 hours per week split at Bury. Due to the nature of this role, there will be some elements of evening and weekend work required. Salary: £13.08 per hour. Temporary contract March 2026 (due to funding).

In this role you will be responsible for developing provision for young people, primarily in Bury St Edmunds. You will be required to confidently build relationships with local organisations, schools, and young people directly to create and develop new programmes and partnerships that meet the needs of local youth, build an understanding of the issues that young people are facing and help to create safer places in the areas where young people hang out.

You will oversee existing youth provision, including Teen Chill sessions, ensuring high-quality services across all current and new youth programs and communicate with participants and their families when required. Collaboration with the Outdoor Education Manager and the Active Communities Manager is essential to ensure a diverse and sustainable program is developed across all areas of Abbeycroft.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • L2 Youth Worker in Principles / Youth Worker experience (1 year)

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Mental Health First Aid
  • EFAW First Aid
