Job summary

JD Gyms is seeking a Duty Manager for the Newcastle area to oversee daily operation, open/close duties and maintain high standards of service and safety. You will work with the management team to deliver member satisfaction and drive revenue while ensuring the club runs efficiently and safely.

The role requires Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification, strong leadership and a commitment to excellent member service. Flexibility for early mornings, evenings, and weekends is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supporting colleagues within a leisure, fitness, hospitality or customer-focused environment.
• Strong commitment to delivering excellent member service and ability to coach and develop colleagues.
• Must be qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.
• Experience contributing to membership growth, commercial performance, local marketing initiatives and team development.
• Experience supporting operational delivery, people leadership and commercial performance within a leisure or customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the day-to-day operational running of the club, including opening and closing duties where required.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including early mornings, evenings and weekends, in line with business needs.
• Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
• Deliver outstanding member service through positive and professional interactions.
• Represent JD Gyms values and standards in all interactions with members and colleagues.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties, projects or meetings as required.
