Job summary

JD Gyms is seeking a Duty Manager to support the day-to-day operation of the club, ensuring safety, cleanliness and high service standards for members. You will work with the management team to drive membership and commercial performance and help deliver a welcoming, well-run gym environment.

The role requires flexible hours including early mornings, evenings and weekends, and experience leading teams in leisure or customer-focused settings. A Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification is required.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supporting colleagues within a leisure, fitness, hospitality or customer-focused environment.
• Must be qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.
• Experience contributing to membership growth, commercial performance, local marketing initiatives and team development.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the day-to-day operational running of the club, including opening and closing duties where required.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including early mornings, evenings and weekends, in line with business needs.
• Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
• Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks. Report and chase all defects, to ensure the building and its equipment is safe to use.
• Support the achievement of membership, revenue and commercial objectives.
• Identify and support opportunities to grow secondary revenue streams.
• Ensure the gym facility is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
• Support General Assistants in maintaining high cleanliness standards across all areas of the club.
• Maintain professional appearance and uniform standards across the team in line with company expectations.
• Deliver outstanding member service through positive and professional interactions.
• Help create a positive, supportive and engaging environment for colleagues and contracted personnel.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties, projects or meetings as required.
• Represent JD Gyms values and standards in all interactions with members and colleagues.
