Job summary

JD Gyms Sunderland is seeking a proactive Duty Manager to support day-to-day club operations and maintain high standards for members and staff. You will help drive safety, service quality and operational efficiency while delivering a welcoming, professional experience to every member.

The role requires a Level 2 Gym Instructor and a flexible schedule, with availability for mornings, evenings and weekends as needed. Join a growing, award-winning gym network.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supporting colleagues within a leisure, fitness, hospitality or customer-focused environment.
• Strong commitment to delivering excellent member service and ability to coach and develop colleagues.
• Qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for day-to-day operational running of the club, including opening and closing duties.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Adhere to Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook.
• Maintain JD Gyms Brand Standard.
• Conduct safety checks and report defects.
• Support membership, revenue and commercial objectives.
• Identify opportunities to grow secondary revenue streams.
• Maintain cleanliness standards across the club.
• Support General Assistants with cleanliness.
• Deliver outstanding member service.
• Represent JD Gyms values in interactions with members and colleagues.
