Job summary

JD Gyms Newcastle is seeking a proactive Duty Manager to support daily operations, uphold high standards, and ensure members enjoy a safe, welcoming experience.

Working with the management team, you will drive membership growth, revenue, and smooth club operation, while maintaining JD Gyms standards and a professional appearance. This role requires flexibility across early mornings, evenings, and weekends, and a commitment to coaching colleagues and delivering outstanding service.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in leisure, fitness, hospitality or customer-focused environments.
• Strong commitment to delivering excellent member service and ability to coach colleagues.
• Must be qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.
• Experience contributing to membership growth and commercial performance.
• Experience supporting operational delivery, people leadership and commercial performance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operational running of the club, including opening/closing duties.
• Flexible working hours across mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies and company procedures.
• Uphold the JD Gyms Brand Standard in all activities.
• Conduct safety checks and report defects to keep facilities safe.
• Support achievement of membership, revenue and commercial objectives.
• Identify opportunities to grow secondary revenue streams.
• Maintain high cleanliness standards and support staff in this area.
• Maintain professional appearance and uniform standards.
• Deliver outstanding member service through positive, professional interactions.
• Foster a supportive environment for colleagues and contractors.
• Undertake other duties or projects as required.
• Represent JD Gyms values in all interactions.
