Job summary

Starbucks Coffee Company in Birmingham is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead shifts, drive commercial results and deliver world-class customer experiences. You will own KPIs, engage partners, and manage operations with a strong growth mindset in a dynamic retail environment.

You will participate in training programmes, promote the Starbucks culture and support the store leadership team to drive brand and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Previous experience leading a team in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-focused retail or hospitality environment.
• Commercial acumen with ability to translate metrics into actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts focusing on commercial results and world-class customer experience.
• Own KPIs including labour efficiency, waste reduction and sales performance.
• Ensure shift deployment meets planned roles and routines; adjust to optimize customer experience.
• Observe partner performance, coach and provide feedback.
• Recognise and celebrate partner achievements during and after shifts.
• Act as the store's duty manager when scheduled; own operational decisions.
• Maintain brand and operational standards across shifts.
• Use financial and operational data to improve shift performance.
• Train and coach partners to deliver consistent quality and service excellence.
• Lead and embed new initiatives and product launches at store level.
• Maintain compliance with health & safety, food safety and security standards.
