Health & Safety Manager - Construction Contractor

Location: Office in Birmingham, covering the Midlands & South of England (excluding London & Devon/Cornwall)

Salary: Up to £95,000 + comprehensive package

Our client is a leading construction contractor delivering complex industrial and commercial projects across the Midlands & South of the UK. They are seeking a senior‑level Health & Safety Manager to drive performance and culture across a diverse portfolio of live sites.

The position is the lead HSEQ role across the company – a brilliant opportunity for a senior Health & Safety professional to drive best practice, influence senior leadership, and shape how safety is delivered for years to come.

The Role
  • Report directly to the Operations Directors, providing leadership and strategic support on all HSE matters
  • Oversee Health & Safety across multiple projects, ensuring consistent standards and engagement
  • Support the H&S team with regular site visits, inspections, and audits, advising site teams with practical, workable solutions
  • Mentor operational staff and promote proactive, people-focused safety culture
  • Lead incident investigations, training delivery, and client liaison activities
  • Flexible working arrangement with home and site‑based balance
About You
  • NEBOSH‑qualified (Diploma or equivalent strongly preferred)
  • Proven track record in construction, ideally within industrial or commercial build
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Pragmatic, people‑oriented, and confident working across multiple projects
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel, but this will extensive
