Job summary

Mitie is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative in the Bedfordshire region (Bedford/Luton/Milton Keynes area). This permanent, full-time role covers 40 hours per week and pays £13.45 per hour.

You will deliver high-quality outdoor space maintenance and meet SLA requirements, keeping sites tidy and safe. Responsibilities include grass and hedge cutting, border maintenance, leaf clearing, winter services such as gritting and snow clearance, and reporting hazards to management.

Qualifications

• Passion for working outdoors in agile and flexible environments.
• Good understanding of smartphone technology.
• Grounds maintenance experience is desirable but not essential.
• PAI & PA6 spraying license is a plus.
• Full UK driving licence preferred for roles involving company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Operate hand tools and powered horticultural machinery safely and effectively
• Deliver winter services including gritting, snow clearance, and Christmas tree installation
