Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative to maintain outdoor spaces to high quality while meeting SLA standards. This full-time role is based in Derbyshire with a 40-hour work week and requires a full UK driving licence.

You will perform grass and hedge cutting, border maintenance, and winter services, using hand tools and powered equipment safely. PA/PA6 licensing is a plus and training is provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Grounds maintenance basics (grass/hedge cutting, border maintenance, leaf clearing)
• Safe operation of hand tools and powered machinery
• Winter services including gritting and snow clearance
• Ability to report hazards to management
• Adherence to health and safety procedures

Responsibilities

• Operate hand tools and powered horticultural machinery safely and effectively
• Deliver winter services including gritting, snow clearance, and Christmas tree installation
• Report site hazards and relevant information to management
• Follow health and safety procedures and undertake additional training as required

What we're looking for:

• Passion for working outdoors in agile and flexible environments
• Good understanding of smartphone technology
• Grounds maintenance experience is desirable but not essential
• PAI & PA6 spraying license is a plus
• Full UK driving license preferred for roles involving company vehicles
