Job summary

Sainsbury’s in the United Kingdom is hiring a Customer Delivery Driver to bring groceries to customers’ doors in a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van. You’ll be the face of Sainsbury’s for each delivery, delivering with energy, care and a friendly, professional service.

You’ll check the van is roadworthy, follow planned routes, and handle bags weighing up to 15 kg. The role requires 18+, a full UK driving licence held 12+ months with up to 6 points, and eligibility to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 years old and hold a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points.
• Right to Work eligibility in the UK.
• Willingness to complete an online driving risk assessment as part of the interview process.

Responsibilities

• Being the face of Sainsbury’s at every doorstep you deliver to.
• Driving a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van to deliver groceries to our customers on time and in great condition.
• Completing checks to make sure the van is roadworthy, clean and organised, and that customers’ shopping is secure before setting off.
• Following planned routes and driving safely in a variety of locations, traffic, weather and road conditions.
• Moving containers weighing up to 15kg and delivering shopping to properties including steps, lifts or longer walks from the van.
• Communicating brilliantly with customers, keeping them informed of delays or changes to their order.
• When not delivering, you may help across the store as needed.
