Job summary

Sainsbury's is seeking a Customer Delivery Driver to bring groceries to customers’ doors with a friendly, careful, and reliable service. You will operate a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van, ensure vehicle readiness, and keep customers informed of delivery progress.

This role requires a strong customer focus, safe driving skills, and flexibility to support store operations when not out on deliveries. You’ll contribute to a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 and hold a full UK driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points.
• Must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK.
• Able to use route and delivery technology.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, physical environment.
• Willing to learn and adapt to new delivery processes.

Responsibilities

• Be the face of Sainsbury’s at every doorstep, delivering with warmth and care.
• Drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van to deliver groceries on time and in good condition.
• Perform checks to ensure the van is roadworthy, clean, and that orders are secure.
• Follow planned routes and drive safely in varying conditions.
• Move containers up to 15kg and deliver to various properties, possibly with steps or lifts.
• Communicate delays or issues to customers and handle queries.
• When not delivering, assist in-store as needed.
