Job summary

Sainsbury’s is looking for a Customer Delivery Driver in the United Kingdom to be the face of our home delivery service, delivering groceries to customers with warmth and care. You’ll drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van, ensuring orders arrive on time and in great condition.

You’ll perform vehicle checks, follow planned routes, handle weights up to 15kg, and assist in-store when needed. A friendly, proactive approach and ability to use route technology are essential to keep customers satisfied.

Qualifications

• Friendly and welcoming attitude and a genuine enthusiasm for helping customers.
• Able to drive a larger vehicle safely in various locations and traffic conditions.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physical environment.
• Ability to use initiative, solve problems and make safe decisions on the road.
• Enjoys working independently and as part of a store team.
• Flexible and willing to learn and take on new challenges.
• Confident using route and delivery management tech.

Responsibilities

• Be the face of Sainsbury’s at doorstep deliveries, providing friendly and helpful service.
• Drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van to deliver groceries on time and in good condition.
• Carry out safety checks on the van and ensure loads are secure before departure.
• Follow planned routes and drive safely in varying locations and weather.
• Move containers up to 15kg and deliver to properties with possible stairs or lifts.
• Communicate clearly with customers and update them on delays or changes.
• Assist in-store duties when not out on deliveries.
