A well-established planning consultancy in Bury St Edmunds is seeking a motivated Graduate Town Planner. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a graduate to launch their planning career in a supportive environment, gaining hands-on experience across various developments. You will assist in planning applications, support colleagues, and draft reports while working towards RTPI chartership.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Town Planning or related discipline (RTPI accredited preferred).

Graduate Town Planner - Bury St Edmunds

Penguin Recruitment is pleased to be working with a well-established planning consultancy in their search for a Graduate Town Planner to join the team in Bury St Edmunds. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious graduate to begin their planning career in a supportive environment with exposure to a diverse range of projects.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals.
  • Support colleagues with site appraisals, planning research, and policy analysis.
  • Draft planning reports and supporting documents.
  • Contribute to stakeholder and local authority engagement.
  • Gain hands-on experience across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
Qualifications
  • Hold (or be completing) a degree in Town Planning or a related discipline (RTPI accredited preferred).
  • Demonstrate strong research, analytical and report-writing skills.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Be enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to learn.
  • Be working towards (or interested in) RTPI chartership.
