Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a graduate Overhead Line Engineer to support high‑voltage line projects across the UK and internationally. You will learn from experienced engineers while contributing to safe, sustainable designs and cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Masters degree obtained no earlier than 2025 or expected.
• Less than 12 months relevant experience (placements excluded).
• Demonstrates curiosity and motivation to contribute to graduate projects.

Responsibilities

• Support design and analysis of high-voltage overhead lines per international standards and client requirements.
• Help develop and maintain design standards, technical procedures, and documentation.
• Carry out engineering studies: line/foundation design, sag–tension analysis, plan-and-profile development, conductor selection, lattice towers, and pole design.
• Prepare and review technical specifications, schedules, and bills of quantities.
• Collaborate across disciplines to address complex project requirements with buildable solutions.
• Contribute innovative, cost-effective design solutions aligned with safety, quality and sustainability.
