Job summary

Mott MacDonald is recruiting a Principal Overhead Line Engineer to join the Transmission & Distribution division. You will deliver complex OHL designs, mentor a team, and coordinate across multi-disciplinary groups on major energy projects.

The role requires expertise with PLS-CADD, PLS-Tower, and PLS-Pole, plus strong communication and leadership capabilities. A hybrid working model is offered across UK offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Experience leading OHL projects and design teams.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.
• Proven ability to mentor junior staff and chair meetings.
• Knowledge of British and international design standards for OHLs.

Responsibilities

• Perform, review and approve high voltage OHL designs to international standards.
• Lead design documentation, schedules, and BOQs for transmission projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Deliver projects with minimal supervision and provide client-facing input.
• Utilize PLS-CADD, PLS-Tower, PLS-Pole and AutoCAD to develop designs.
