Job summary
Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Power Transmission and Distribution team. You will work on diverse projects delivering innovative solutions for transmission grid systems, ensuring reliable electricity supply and integration of renewables.
You will engage with major utilities and global customers, leading design through feasibility to commissioning while coordinating with cross-disciplinary teams and external clients within a hybrid working model.
Qualifications
- Qualified to degree level and ideally Chartered Engineer status
- Experience in power transmission and distribution industry
- Design, delivery and supervision of HV substation solutions (110kV-400kV)
- Development of HV AIS/GIS substation specifications
- Experience across all lifecycle stages of projects
- Compliance with health and safety requirements in HV plant designs
- Experience in preparing technical reports in English
Responsibilities
- Create primary plant layouts for HV substations
- Specify equipment for HV plant and ancillary equipment
- Provide engineering input from feasibility to commissioning
- Coordinate with client project teams and internal disciplines
- Deliver projects in new technologies (energy storage, HVDC, smart grids)
- Provide services to UK and overseas clients
