Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Power Transmission and Distribution team. Based in the UK with a hybrid working pattern, you will develop innovative solutions for high voltage grid projects and support integration of renewables from concept through to delivery.

The role requires a degree in electrical engineering, experience in HV substations (110kV–400kV), and ability to coordinate with clients and internal disciplines. Chartered status is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering; Chartered Engineer status preferred or in progress.
• Experience in power transmission and distribution industry.
• Experience in HV substation design (110kV–400kV).
• Experience preparing technical reports in English.
• Experience applying health and safety requirements to HV plant designs.

Responsibilities

• Create primary plant layout for HV substations.
• Prepare equipment specifications for HV plant and auxiliaries.
• Provide engineering input through lifecycle stages from feasibility to commissioning.
• Coordinate with client project teams and internal disciplines.
• Deliver projects using new technologies like energy storage or HVDC.
