Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our Water team in Birmingham. You will contribute to design across feasibility to construction, with a focus on pumps, hydraulics and water treatment projects.

The role offers a hybrid working model and opportunities to work with major UK water clients and Tier 1 contractors. You will engage in BIM, P&ID development and digital tools while developing your Chartered Engineer trajectory with support from the ADVANCE programme.

Qualifications

• MEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Enthusiastic and technically proficient with drive to learn.
• Good report writing and basic MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in mechanical design for water/wastewater projects.
• Produce system schematics and pump/drive schedules.
• Develop equipment specifications related to hydraulics and pump systems.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers and internal teams to support delivery.
• Provide timely reporting to project leads and stakeholders.
