A little background on our Mechanical Engineering Team:

Haskoning have a dedicated Mechanical Engineering team specialising in serving the global maritime market.

We provide consultancy and design services to the global maritime market specialising in the feasibility, design, and specification of a wide range of mechanical equipment packages and systems within Ports, Shipyards and Container Terminals.

What you will do as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer

As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, you will work as part of the Mechanical Team to assist in the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects. Projects will vary in size and complexity and provide a variety of challenges for you to be involved in.

On the job learning will be assisted by a supportive team around you. Formal training will be provided as part of a Graduate Induction Programme and specific Mechanical Engineering training will be provided with both internal and external providers. Haskoning has an approved scheme for working towards IMechE chartership that you will be enrolled onto.

Duties will include:

  • Prepare design calculations, drawings, studies, specifications, and reports,
  • Prepare AutoCAD drawings and Revit models for mechanical systems,
  • Carry out investigations, surveys, and inspections,
  • Assist in project control and site supervision as required,
  • Plan, organise and manage work packages or projects,
  • Collaborate with our Revit Technicians to develop a 3D Revit model in line with the project requirements.
  • Travel in the UK and abroad for short assignments (as per project requirements)
Candidate Specification

We are looking for a flexible and motivated graduate with a genuine passion for learning and professional growth, to apply for this role you will anticipate achieving a 2:1 or above in a degree relative to mechanical engineering (BEng) or a post graduate qualification (MSc).

A proportion of work projects are likely to involve UK Ministry of Defence. As a result, candidates must be eligible to apply for and attain SC (Security Check) clearance.

This role might be right for you if you have:

  • A logical approach to problem solving.
  • Good interpersonal skills, an enthusiasm to take responsibility and to work closely with clients.
  • Ability to undertake task independently and efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail
  • Experience in standard Microsoft packages: Words, Excel, etc.
  • Have or working towards a Full Driving Licence
  • Willingness to travel.
Location

The role will be based in of our Edinburgh, Exeter, Liverpool, Newcastle, or Peterborough offices.

As our team is spread across the UK, travel between offices will be required along with occasional travel to client offices in the UK and abroad.
