GE Vernova – Grid Automation invites a graduate in electrical engineering to grow in substation protection and control systems. You’ll design, configure and test protection and control solutions for different voltage level substations, mentored by experienced engineers and rotating across teams to build a foundation in substation automation, SCADA, IEC 61850, and cybersecurity.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, power systems, or related field.
Basic understanding of protection schemes, relay logic, and control system principles.
Familiarity with power system fundamentals, substation layouts, or single line diagrams.
Knowledge of SCADA/DCS systems, industrial communications, or cybersecurity in energy systems.

Responsibilities

Assist in the design and configuration of protection and control systems for electrical substations.
Support testing activities, including factory acceptance tests.
Gain exposure to SCADA, RTU, HMI systems, and protection relays.
Learn IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus and other communication protocols.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product engineering, applications, and field services.
Support documentation development, including system specifications, test procedures, and technical reports.
