Join our small, dedicated governance team supporting the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees at the RSC. We're looking for an exceptionally organised professional to help drive the effective performance of our governance operations. About the Role Working closely with our Head of Governance, Chief Executive, Leadership Team and Trustees, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of RSC governance. This position combines high-level administrative support with strategic coordination across our governance structures, including periodic collaboration with external providers. What You'll Do
Responsibilities
- Support the timely and effective functioning of our Board of Trustees and governance operations
- Prepare documentation for Board meetings, AGM, and key committees (Audit & Risk, Nominations, Disciplinary)
- Manage the complete RSC elections process, including coordinating nominations for President, Board members and Subject Community Councils, liaising with our election services provider, and supporting the Nominations Committee
- Coordinate Honorary Fellows nominations and award presentations
- Maintain RSC websites and intranet governance content
- Ensure promotion governance matters across our publications and social media
- Provide confidential administrative support to the Head of Governance
Qualifications
- Experience supporting boards and committees, with understanding of voluntary/charitable governance principles
- Exceptional organisational abilities – you thrive on managing processes, following detailed procedures and meeting deadlines
- Experience working with senior management while maintaining strict confidentiality
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) and Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Ability to quickly learn new software platforms (membership databases, volunteer hubs)
