Job summary

Arup is seeking a Payroll Manager for the Americas, UK-based on a 1-year fixed-term contract. You will lead the payroll transformation as we migrate to a single global payroll service and oversee US and Canadian payroll delivery.

You will partner with global stakeholders, define future processes, and drive successful delivery while coaching the payroll team through the transition, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing complex US and Canadian payroll operations.
• Proven payroll transformation experience including process standardisation, outsourcing, managed service implementation or vendor consolidation.
• Strong knowledge of payroll systems, payroll tax regulations and HR/payroll integrations.
• Experience working with global stakeholders and leading cross-functional workshops.
• Demonstrated project delivery skills, including risk, issue and dependency management.

Responsibilities

• Lead payroll transformation activities across the Americas, supporting the migration to a global managed payroll service.
• Partner with stakeholders to define future processes, operating models and business requirements.
• Facilitate workshops, manage risks and dependencies, and drive project delivery against agreed timelines.
• Act as the primary liaison between regional payroll teams, CloudPay and the global project team.
• Support payroll integration activities with Arup's global Cloud HCM implementation. Provide leadership and coaching to the Americas payroll team.
• Oversee the accurate delivery of US and Canadian payrolls, ensuring compliance with payroll, tax and statutory requirements.
• Produce management reporting, support audits and drive continuous process improvement.
