Job summary

A prominent recruitment consultancy in the UK is seeking a UK Employment Tax Advisor to support clients navigating employment taxes. The role involves delivering client engagements with compliance accuracy, contributing to advisory projects, and mentoring juniors. Candidates should hold or be working towards ATT/CTA qualifications and have exposure to employment tax. The position offers a hybrid work model based in Scotland, specifically from Edinburgh, Glasgow, or Aberdeen.

Responsibilities

As a UK Employment Tax Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting clients and senior team members in navigating the complexities of UK employment taxes. Your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in the day-to-day delivery of client engagements, ensuring compliance and technical accuracy.
  • Support employment tax projects and collaborate with senior team members.
  • Contribute to advisory projects covering PAYE, NIC, benefits in kind, CIS, termination payments, IR35.
  • Conduct technical research and analysis to provide insightful recommendations.
  • Prepare tax calculations, documentation, and advisory reports.
  • Engage with clients on UK employment tax developments.
  • Support PAYE reviews, HMRC employer compliance checks, and mentoring junior team members.
Qualifications
  • ATT and/or CTA qualification(s) or working towards them.
  • Experience or exposure to employment tax practices.
  • A background outside of a traditional Big 4 firm is welcome.
Location

This role will be based in Scotland – working out of either the Edinburgh, Glasgow or Aberdeen office with hybrid working on offer.
