The Global Head of Trade and Communications Surveillance is a senior leadership role within Regulatory Compliance Surveillance, reporting to the Global Head of Regulatory Compliance Surveillance. The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective operation of trade and communications surveillance practices globally. This is an integral role that will work closely with Surveillance users, stakeholders, technology and product teams, ensuring that emerging risks, technologies, and regulatory expectations are identified early, embedded into the Surveillance Programme, and communicated to senior stakeholders.

In this role you will:
  • Provide direct leadership to the Tade and Communications Surveillance Functional Leads, ensuring global consistency in delivery of approach, governance and delivery.
  • Strive to ensure that the trade and communications surveillance programmes remain fit for purpose, scalable, and adaptive to new risks and technologies.
  • Take a collaborative approach between Surveillance Sub Value Stream Leads to maintain effective model performance, production issue management, innovation pipelines, and will ensure activities are progressing to agreed timelines.
  • Have a keen eye for detail on the regulatory landscape particularly related to market abuse to identify any risks.
  • Ensure Market Abuse Risk Assessments (MARA), policy and risk taxonomy outcomes are applied consistently and effectively across regions.
  • Influence and attain buy in where required from senior stakeholders on surveillance related matters.
  • Take a proactive approach to identify opportunities for process improvement.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
  • Extensive experience in a surveillance function with a strong understanding of trade and communications surveillance.
  • Thorough ability to lead a team, guide initiatives and steer employees to achieve goals.
  • Strong knowledge on the regulatory landscape with an understanding of with excellent understanding of Market Abuse Regulations and Market Abuse Risk Assessments.
  • Prior experience influencing, liaising and /or attaining buy in from senior stakeholders on a Surveillance related matter.

This role is based in London on a hybrid working basis.
