Job summary

A leading power solutions provider in South Wales is seeking a Generator Depot Engineer to support the maintenance and servicing of generator sets. The successful candidate will perform on-site installations, comply with health and safety standards, and be part of an on-call rota. Required qualifications include a relevant engineering background and a full driving licence. This full-time position offers a salary of £28,000 - £30,000, with benefits including holiday entitlement and pension scheme.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Diesel Fitting, or similar.
  • Experience working with generators or large diesel engines.
  • Full driving licence essential; towing categories preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, and ensure the upkeep of generators.
  • Provide general support in the yard, including loading and offloading equipment.
  • Operate forklift when needed.
  • Re-book generators into stock.
  • Carry out servicing and repairs off site.
  • Install and synchronise generator packages.

Skills

Mechanical/Electrical Engineering qualification
Experience with generators or large diesel engines
Full driving licence
Forklift licence
Experience in a workshop environment
CSCS card
Ability to work independently
Flexible approach

Education

Relevant qualification (City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent)
