Job summary

Citizens Advice in Ilkeston is seeking a CRF Generalist Adviser to join our advice services team. You will deliver both face-to-face and telephone guidance to people in crisis, with wraparound support in foodbank settings across Amber Valley, Derbyshire Dales and Erewash.

The role involves welfare benefits checks, helping clients to claim benefits, challenging decisions and providing energy advice. Some remote/home working is possible.

CRF Generalist Adviser

Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £27,263 to £29,806 per annum

Location: Ilkeston

About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Generalist Adviser to join our existing advice services team who deliver advice to the public on a wide range of issues. The post is funded by the Crisis Resilience Fund and will involve providing both face-to-face and telephone advice, based out of our Ilkeston office, with travel to Foodbanks, Community Pantries, Outreach locations and other community venues across Amber Valley, Derbyshire Dales and Erewash. This role will require you to provide advice to people in crisis, providing a wraparound advice service within foodbank setting, advising on our main enquiry areas including checking welfare benefit eligibility, assisting clients to make benefit claims, challenging decisions and providing energy advice. There is flexibility in this role which allows for some remote/home working where appropriate.

We welcome applications from experienced advisers, as well as those looking to train in this vital area of work. Full training and support will be provided for the right trainee candidate.
