We have an exciting opportunity a General Practitioners to join our Healthcare team at HMP Millsike. HMP Millsike is a brand new state of the art category C prison, based in Full Sutton, near York. Within this role you will work as part of the multidisciplinary team including 1 other GP and 3 prescribers. You will be delivering clinics to support Primary Care, Mental Health and Substance Misuse acute needs and long term conditions. Clinics will also involve completing admin and patient referrals to internal and external pathways.

Hours

10 sessions over Monday to Friday 8.30am-5pm We could also consider part time applicants looking for a job share

Salary

You’ll receive an annual salary up to £125,600 per annum FTE- depending on experience.

Our General Practitioners are extremely valued and are well respected members of the Prison Healthcare community, as a General Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Deliver first class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, and therefore as a General Practitioner at Practice Plus Group you get the opportunity to further develop your knowledge in areas you wouldn’t usually experience within a practice, or even A&E environment.
• Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient’s requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management.
• Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.

Qualifications required

• MBChB or MBBS Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
• Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
• Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
• RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications
