Job description

Elgar House Surgery is looking for a forward thinking and friendly GP to join our fantastic team. We want you to be able to do the best work of your career, be confident in your care and proud of the outcomes you achieve for your patients.

This post is for 6 clinical sessions over three days.

Main duties of the job

At Elgar House Surgery you will be part of a supportive team and will be responsible for managing your own patient list. We are looking for someone with a high standard of care and someone who works well with all members of the primary care team.

Please note that this is an ARRS role but you will be employed by Elgar House Surgery. Therefore there is a criteria for this post.

About us

Elgar House Surgery is a large Town Centre practice will almost 15,000 patients. We are active members of our Primary Care Network and we are a training practice with registrars and medical students.

We offer enhanced services such as Ear Suction and Minor Operations. We are a veteran friendly GP practice.

At Elgar House Surgery we have 5 partner GPs and 7 Salaried GPs. We also have a nursing team which include 3 specialist nurses, 2 treatment room nurses and 4 Healthcare Assistants.

Elgar House Surgery is approx a 7 mintues walk to the Redditch Train and Bus station. There are plenty of eateries in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre and many high street stores.

Job responsibilities

You must be able to provide a full range of NHS Primary Medical services to patients, including: Clinical Examination, diagnosis, treatment and referral as appropriate.

Knowledge of EMIS would be advantageous but if needed training can be provided.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Qualified GP
  • GMC full registration
  • Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent (JCPTGP)
  • Membership of recognised defence union (MPS/MDU)
  • Currently on a performers list
  • Never been removed from a performers list for a detrimental reason
  • A demonstrable commitment to professional development
  • Understands the importance of evidence-based practice and clinical effectiveness
  • Evidence of recent self-directed learning or development
  • General Medical Practitioner is not beyond the second anniversary of their certificate of completion of training, issued by the General Medical Council, at the start of their employment or engagement.
  • Included in the list of medical practitioners maintained and published by NHS England in accordance with section 91 of the NHS Act 2006
  • a medical practitioner whose name is included in the General Practitioner Register kept by the General Medical Council under section 2 of the Medical Act 1983
  • DRCOG

Experience
  • GP Primary Care Experience
  • Good understanding of QOF
  • Experience of Microsoft Office Applications
