A respected heritage organization is seeking a General Cleaner to maintain the cleanliness of its buildings and outdoor areas. The role is based in Cambridge and includes flexible working hours in a team environment. Ideal candidates will be focused on customer service, adaptable, and willing to learn. We’re looking for a General Cleaner with the practical skills and eye for detail to keep the Food and Beverage department at Wimpole Estate in excellent condition for our visitors.
Reporting to the Food and Beverage management team you will join over 50 employees/volunteers who work within the department.
Our cleaners follow a shift pattern of 3/4 days per week including alternate weekends, working 3-4 hours per day after service so usually mid‑afternoon to early evening.
For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.
Reporting to the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager, you’ll be based at Wimpole. A living, working estate with an impressive 17th Century mansion, park, gardens and rare breed farm. In addition, Wimpole has a gift shop and a second‑hand bookshop. The Old Rectory Café serves light lunches, homemade cakes and specials using produce from the kitchen garden. We have two other outlets: The Farm Café and the Stables Café serving hot and cold food and drink.

You’ll be helping with the day-to-day cleaning and presentation of the National Trust’s buildings and outdoor spaces.
Keeping our three outlets clean is the core part of this role. You’ll aim for the highest standards of customer service everywhere you look after.
