Gasworks: Residency for Palestinian Artists (UK)

Gasworks invites applications from emerging and mid-career Palestinian artists for an eleven-week residency in London from 7 July to 21 September 2026.

Gasworks hosts up to 20 international residencies each year, supporting professional development, cultural exchange and artistic experimentation. Residencies are self-led, non-prescriptive and process-based, enabling artists to research and develop new work, engage with the city and build networks. This residency is supported by Gasworks’ Palestinian Residency Patrons Circle.

The programme supports the production of new work and research in a context of peer exchange, with access to curatorial, pastoral and administrative guidance. Residents will present their practice in an Open Studio event on 12 September 2026.

Eligible applicants are emerging and mid-career contemporary visual artists based in Palestine or of Palestinian origin living elsewhere. Applicants should have a moderate level of spoken English and must be able to obtain a visa for the residency. Gasworks welcomes applications from artists of all backgrounds and will discuss accessibility requirements where needed.

The residency provides a private studio at Gasworks with 24-hour access; single-room accommodation in the Residency House shared with other artists; economy return flights and transfers; visa costs and application support; a weekly stipend of 175 GBP; a materials budget of up to 800 GBP; and a prepaid travel card (zones 1+2) for unlimited central London travel. Artists also receive studio visits with Gasworks staff and external curators, access to basic tools and AV equipment, a dedicated residency webpage with a filmed interview, networking opportunities, and support from staff during office hours.
