Job summary

Co-op is hiring a Funeral Arranger in Bolton for a part-time role (18.75 hours per week). The position involves serving families with dignity, coordinating visits, and handling the deceased with care. Full training and ongoing support are provided, plus benefits and a competitive pension plan.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication with clients and colleagues.
• Ability to perform basic calculations and handle cash.
• Attention to regulatory policies and processes.
• Proficient with common IT devices and software.
• Empathy, discretion and care when supporting families.
• Physical capability to move coffins with training provided.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and the community.
• Support clients in person and by phone, arranging family visits and answering questions.
• Keep the funeral home clean, safe, and welcoming; report maintenance issues.
• Use digital systems to manage client documentation, funeral arrangements and invoicing.
• Refer regulated work, like selling funeral plans, to the Funeral Plan Arrangers.
• Assist with manual handling of coffins and preparation of the deceased.
• Update client management applications with timely, accurate information.
