Job summary

Co-op Funeralcare is seeking a part-time team member to support client services, documentation and arrangements. The role requires handling sensitive duties with care and professionalism, while providing excellent customer service in a respectful environment.

Qualifications

• No previous funeral industry experience required; full training and ongoing support provided.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• High levels of empathy, discretion and care.
• Ability to handle basic cash calculations and invoicing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and the community.
• Support clients in person and over the phone; arrange family visits and answer questions.
• Keep the funeral home clean, safe and welcoming; report maintenance issues.
• Use digital systems to manage client documentation, funeral arrangements and invoicing.
• Refer regulated work (funeral plans) to Funeral Plan Arrangers.
• Assist in care and preparation of the deceased; move coffins with safety training.
• Update client management applications with accurate information.
• Work with numbers for discounts, data entry and invoicing.
