Job summary

Co-op Funeralcare is seeking a Funeral Arranger in Ipswich (IP1 4LS) for part-time work (18.75 hours per week, Mon–Wed). Salary is £13.47 per hour with benefits, including pension and staff discounts. The role involves preparing, transporting, and caring for the deceased with professionalism and compassion.

No previous funeral-industry experience is required as full training and ongoing support are provided; a friendly team welcomes you to help families say their goodbyes.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate with clients and colleagues both in writing and verbally.
• Confident with numbers, including cash handling, discounts, data entry and invoicing.
• Keen eye for detail and accuracy, ensuring regulatory policies are followed.
• Good IT skills to use a range of devices and applications.
• High empathy, discretion and care.
• Ability to perform physical elements of the role, with training provided.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and the community.
• Support clients in person and by phone, arranging family visits and answering questions.
• Keep the funeral home clean, safe and welcoming, and report maintenance issues.
• Use digital systems to manage client documentation, funeral arrangements and invoicing.
• Refer regulated work (funeral plans) to Funeral Plan Arrangers.
• Assist in handling coffins and preparing the deceased for viewing.
• Update client management applications with timely, accurate information.
