Job summary

Co-op Funeralcare is seeking a compassionate team member to support families and manage client documentation. The role involves respectful preparation and care of the deceased, coordinating visits and payments, and maintaining a welcoming funeral home environment.

Full training will be provided. You will work with various digital systems, communicate clearly with clients and colleagues, and handle basic cash tasks while upholding health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work with numbers for basic calculations and cash handling.
• High levels of empathy, discretion and care.
• Comfortable using IT systems, computers, tablets and smartphones.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and the community.
• Support clients in person and over the phone, arranging family visits and answering questions.
• Ensure the funeral home is clean, safe and welcoming, and report maintenance issues.
• Use digital systems to manage client documentation, funeral arrangements and invoicing.
• Refer regulated work to Funeral Plan Arrangers and assist in care/preparation of the deceased.
• Assist with manual handling of coffins and in the preparation of the deceased for viewing.
• Learn and use new applications/systems to keep records up to date.
• Deliver great service and build relationships with empathy and care.
