Job summary

OurCoop is seeking a Funeral Advisor to manage the day-to-day running of our funeral homes, supporting families with compassionate guidance and personalised arrangements. You will cover nearby branches as needed, ensuring high standards, clear communication, and a respectful service.

Joining as a cooperative member, you’ll be flexible, detail-oriented and ready to travel within the area to assist families during difficult times. DBS checks will apply as part of our recruitment process.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and able to demonstrate active listening to support families.
• Excellent attention to detail in cost transparency and arrangements.
• Strong communication and organisational skills for handling sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Develop knowledge of services to personalise funeral plans by listening to families’ wishes.
• Arrange funerals with attention to detail and cost transparency.
• Communicate arrangements clearly between family and Funeral Director.
• Handle administration duties with sensitivity and accuracy.
• Keep the Funeral Home clean, tidy and secure (alarms, opening/closing).
• Promote Funeral Services within the local community as a cooperative member.
• Build relationships with hospitals, nursing homes, clergy and doctors.
• Comply with statutory and internal policies and procedures.
