Job summary

CO-OP Funeralcare is looking for compassionate team members to support families and manage delicate arrangements in a respectful environment. You will interact with clients in person and by phone, supporting visits, answering questions and coordinating documentation and invoicing.

No prior funeral industry experience is required as full training is provided, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for career progression within the Co-op network.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills with clients and colleagues, both written and verbal.
• High levels of empathy, discretion and care in handling sensitive circumstances.
• Keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Competent numeracy for basic cash handling, discounts and invoicing.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and the community.
• Support clients in person and over the phone, arranging family visits and answering questions.
• Ensure the funeral home is clean, safe and welcoming, reporting maintenance issues.
• Use digital systems to manage client documentation, funeral arrangements and invoicing.
• Refer regulated work, like selling funeral plans, to Funeral Plan Arrangers.
• Assist in the care and preparation of the deceased and manual handling as trained.
