Job summary

CO-OP Funeralcare is seeking a compassionate team member to support clients face-to-face and over the phone in Highweek. You will help arrange family visits, answer questions, and maintain a respectful, safe funeral home environment.

Full training and ongoing support are provided. The role combines client service, simple invoicing, and care for the deceased with professional standards and empathy.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills with clients and colleagues, both written and verbal.
• Numeracy skills with cash handling and invoicing.
• Empathy, discretion and care when supporting families.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in regulatory policies.
• Good IT skills and ability to learn new systems.
• Ability to carry out physical aspects of the role, including moving coffins (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and the community.
• Support clients in person and over the phone, arranging family visits and answering questions.
• Keep funeral home clean, safe, and welcoming, reporting maintenance issues.
• Use digital systems to manage client documentation, funeral arrangements and invoicing.
• Refer regulated work like funeral plans to Funeral Plan Arrangers.
• Assist in the care and preparation of the deceased and manual handling as required.
• Update client management applications with accurate, timely information.
• Receive full training and ongoing support to perform the role effectively.
