Job summary

Maven Group Ltd is seeking an experienced Functional Assessor in the UK. The role involves conducting five client assessments daily via telephone, video or face-to-face interactions, and producing objective reports to assist the DWP in determining benefit eligibility.

The position offers a starting salary of £42,000 per annum with a £4,000 uplift to £46,000 after 12 months following training and approval. Hybrid/home working is available, with on-site work in Wrexham.

Qualifications

• NMC registered nurse or HCPC qualified Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist with 1+ year post-registration experience.
• Strong communication and IT skills required.

Responsibilities

• Perform around five client assessments per day via telephone, video or in-person.
• Produce factual reports to support DWP decisions on eligibility for benefits.
• Engage with clients compassionately and document findings accurately.

What does the Functional Assessor role involve?

The Functional Assessor role will involve you carrying out 5 client assessments per day. A typical day will see you carrying out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their working capability. You’ll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That’s the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don't. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.

What we look for;

• An NMC registered nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) or HCPC qualified Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist with 1 year’s or more broad post-registration experience
• Someone who’s proactive and keen to learn
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Competent IT and computer skills
• Comfortable working with a diverse range of conditions, including mental health
