Maven Group Ltd in Barrow-in-Furness is offering a Functional Assessor role with a starting salary of £42,000 per year, plus an uplift to £46,000 after 12 months following training and DWP approval. The role supports both full-time and part-time arrangements, with hybrid/home working and Barrow-based on-site work.

The assessor will conduct up to five client assessments daily, producing factual reports to help determine eligibility for benefits, while the final decision rests with the DWP.

Qualifications

• NMC registered nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) or HCPC qualified Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist with 1 year’s or more broad post-registration experience
• Proactive and keen to learn
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; competent IT

Responsabilités

• Carrying out 5 client assessments per day via telephone, video or face-to-face
• Gather information and produce factual reports to support DWP decisions
• Interact with clients to understand how disability or health condition affects work capability

£4,000 performance related salary uplift to £46,000pa after 12 months following training and DWP Functional Assessor approval.

What does the Functional Assessor role involve?

The Functional Assessor role will involve you carrying out 5 client assessments per day. A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their working capability. You’ll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That's the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don't. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.
