Job summary

Maven Group Ltd. is seeking a Functional Assessor in Scarborough. The role involves conducting up to five client assessments per day via telephone, video or face-to-face, and producing factual reports to assist the DWP in determining eligibility for benefits.

You will join a team delivering hybrid/home working options with standard 9am-5pm hours, full-time or part-time arrangements, and a competitive salary supported by a pension and generous leave. Training with CPD support is included.

Qualifications

• NMC registered nurse or HCPC-qualified professional with 1+ year post-registration experience.
• Proactive learner with good communication and IT skills.
• Comfortable working with diverse conditions, including mental health.

Responsibilities

• Conduct about 5 client assessments per day (phone, video or in-person).
• Prepare factual reports to support DWP decisions.
• Engage with clients to understand impact on work capability.

What is on offer as a Functional Assessor?

• Excellent starting salary at £42,000pa
• Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm working hours
• Full time and part time available (3, 4 or 5 days per week available)

£4,000 performance related salary uplift to £46,000pa after 12 months following training and DWP Functional Assessor approval.

What does the Functional Assessor role involve?

The Functional Assessor role will involve you carrying out 5 client assessments per day. A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their working capability. You’ll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That's the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don't. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.

What we look for;

• An NMC registered nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) or HCPC qualified Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist with 1 year’s or more broad post-registration experience
• Someone who’s proactive and keen to learn
• Excellent oral and written communication skillsCompetent IT and computer skills
