Job summary

Maven Group Ltd is recruiting for a Functional Assessor in Wirral. The role involves conducting around five client assessments daily via telephone, video or in-person, collecting information and producing clear reports to support DWP benefit decisions.

On-site work is in Birkenhead with hybrid/home-working options and a strong training program. Salary starts at £42,000 per annum with potential to rise to £46,000 after 12 months post-training and DWP approval.

Qualifications

• NMC registered nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD) or HCPC qualified with 1+ year post-registration experience.
• Proactive and keen to learn with excellent communication skills.
• Competent IT and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out approximately 5 client assessments per day via telephone, video or face-to-face.
• Gather information and produce factual reports to help the DWP determine eligibility for benefits.
• Participate in training and ongoing support to ensure high professional standards.

What is on offer as a Functional Assessor?

• Excellent starting salary at £42,000pa
• Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm working hours
• Full time and part time available (3, 4 or 5 days per week available)
• Birkenhead based when working on-site

• £4,000 performance related salary uplift to £46,000pa after 12 months following training and DWP Functional Assessor approval.

What does the Functional Assessor role involve?

The Functional Assessor role will involve you carrying out 5 client assessments per day. A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their working capability. You'll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That's the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don't. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.

• An NMC registered nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) or HCPC qualified Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist with 1 year's or more broad post-registration experience
