Job summary

Maven Group Ltd in the United Kingdom is recruiting Functional Assessors. The role involves conducting up to five client assessments daily, via telephone, video, or in person, to understand how disabilities affect work capabilities. You will produce factual reports used by the DWP to determine eligibility for benefits.

Qualifications

• NMC registered nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD) or HCPC qualified professional with post-registration experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Competent IT and computer skills.
• Comfortable working with a wide range of conditions, including mental health.

Responsibilities

• Carry out up to 5 client assessments per day.
• Conduct telephone, video, or face-to-face assessments to assess how disability or health condition affects work capabilities.
• Produce factual reports to inform DWP decision-making while DWP retains final authority.
• Receive training and support to excel in the Functional Assessor role.

What is on offer as a Functional Assessor?

• Excellent starting salary at £42,000pa
• Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm working hours
• Full time and part time available (3, 4 or 5 days per week available)
• Boston based when working on-site
• 25 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays + the ability to buy or sell 5 more days + pension
• Hybrid/home working available
• NMC or HCPC fees paid for and CPD revalidation support provided

£4,000 performance related salary uplift to £46,000pa after 12 months following training and DWP Functional Assessor approval.

What does the Functional Assessor role involve?

The Functional Assessor role will involve you carrying out 5 client assessments per day. A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their working capability. You’ll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That's the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don't. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.

What we look for;
